Hello, FanStar.org Hostees and Followers,
I have some sad news: FanStar.org is closing its doors for good very soon. I will not be taking any more applications. FanStar.org is officially closed for applications.
Unfortunately, my financial situation has changed since the beginning of the year, so I will no longer be able to host any sites anymore. I am giving up the server. I can no longer afford to keep it going. Most of you already know that I am no longer receiving ad revenue from Google AdSense (I haven’t been for a long time now). I held on for as long as I could, but I must let the server go now as money is too tight to mention.
This means that all of my current hostees will have to find hosting elsewhere. It also means that I will no longer be able to renew the cost of the FanStar.org-owned domains you have been using for free. I’m sorry, but you guys will have to pay for your own domains from now on. I can no longer afford to help you out in that regard.
I can transfer ownership of the domain to you for FREE, so you can take it to wherever you want to be hosted at and you will be responsible for renewing it from this moment on. That is only if you want to keep the domain going after I close. If you do not want to keep your current FanStar.org-hosted site, it can be deleted. You can get all the expiration dates for your domains from me. If you already own the domain you are using here, you can transfer it to your new host or they can do it for you. Once your site has been transferred to your new host, I will delete all your files from the server here. I will not be keeping your files and doing anything shady with them, so you don’t have to worry about that.
FanStar.org Hostees, I am sorry for the inconvenience this may/will cause some of you, but I hope that you will understand. It can’t be helped. Please contact me ASAP and let me know what you want to do about your site.
It has been a real learning experience for me. I was happy to help out for as long as I could.

P.S. I highly recommend Fan-Sites.org as a Free Fansite Host. I do NOT recommend FanFusion.org as they are very shady.

5/19/2013 UPDATE: I am currently working with FanStar.org hostees to get them and their files safely moved to their new hosts. I do not have e-mails for ANYONE because I lost all my contact information when my laptop crashed, so I will continue to try reaching you through this blog, via Twitter/Facebook/Tumblr or your hosted blogs/CBoxes.
